Meet the Teacher Night
In September a night is set aside when the parents can tour the classrooms and meet the teachers. This is especially helpful when there is new staff. All parents are invited to come, meet the teacher and talk with each other over a cup of coffee.
Christmas
We
usually celebrate this important Christian holiday with a Christmas
program at a local church. Family and friends are invited to celebrate
with the students the coming of our Saviour, Lord Jesus Christ, into
the world.
School Skating
Twice
a year, December and February, the whole school goes skating at the
local arena. Parents and other family members and friends are also
invited to come and join in the fun.
Year end BBQ
Each
year in June, the Fundraising Committee plans an evening for families
and supporters to enjoy a meal together. New staff and families are
also invited to become acquainted with the staff and students.
Membership Meetings
Twice a year the entire membership of the school is asked to come together to discuss the official business of the school. At the fall meeting, usually held in November, the various school committees give their reports and a financial update is presented. During the spring membership meeting, usually held in April, new Board members are elected and the proposed budget for the next school year is presented to the membership for approval.
Specially called membership meetings may be held at any time the Board feels necessary. All parents and other school supporters are urged to attend these meetings and assist the Board in managing the affairs of the school.
Assemblies

Assemblies
are held on a regular basis. There are two types of assemblies:
1. Classroom Assemblies – each grade is in charge of an assembly
where they showcase the work they have been doing.
2. Topical Assemblies – these assemblies are held on dates near
special Christian holidays or other significant events, such as Remembrance
Day.
Grandparents’ Day
Every
year in May, grandparents and grand-friends are invited to come and
spend a day at school. They are invited to spend some time with the
students in the classrooms and, if they wish, on the playground. Lunch
is served at a local church by the Fundraising Committee. During the
afternoon the students entertain our special guest with a Grandparents’
Day program.
